Newbie Rebuilding Pioneer sx-424

Hi:

Looks like a very active Forum.

I own a Pioneer sx-424 that I originally purchased in 1972. Wonderful sounding Tuner for relatively small room. After about 30 years, developed distorted sound, so packed it away (with the 4 speaker plug-ins) and am now wanting to get it running again.

I intend to clean all the pots and switches and have watched nearly every u-tube regarding rebuilding. I rebuild antique radio's and short wave receivers, but have not a lot of experience with transistor circuits.

Am planning on replacing transistors and caps. I see various ebay vendors selling cap and transistor packets for the sx-424 for about $50. Can anyone here recommend a vendor that is honest and who's parts will work?

I've bought a number of parts from him with no troubles.

I and many others stay away from HiFiAudio as they sell questionable parts.

Not yet. I have a dim bulb tester for my radio rebuilds but I have not started on the 424 as I am awaiting speakers. I will be sure to use the bulb on this project as the unit has been in storage for quite a few years. Because it was put away with issues in the sound quality, I am expecting transistor and capacitor issues. Thank You for replying.

Based from this helpful Forum, I have received the Rebuild kit and instructions from peace.love.and.music. Super fast delivery and really nice instructions.

Tried to download the Service manual ( I have my original Operating instructions which include schematics) from hifiengine. Don't know what is going on there, as they are not accepting new accounts. Found the service manual on manualslib.com. The service manual lists schematics, parts lists and AM/FM alignment instructions. Was expecting a little more from the schematics for test voltages.

Newby Question:

There are two test voltages on the schematic. One at he end of the RF Unit and one between the AF unit and the Tuner unit.

1 - What is meant by " DC Voltage at no input signal"?
2 - What is meant by " DC Voltage at maximum input signal"?
3 - What is meant by " Signal voltage when 13W/8Ohm is acquired"?
