Now I own two pair of Sansui AS-200, and just aquired a pair of AS-100. Strangely I seem to prefer the AS100 on most material. Just seem a bit punchier and not as laid back. Other than cleaning the cabinets and oiling them I have done no crossover work. THese things really sing. I am happy. Now to find a pair of AS-300 to complete the family. I really like this relatively unknown Sansui offering.:thmbsp::thmbsp::thmbsp:

Actually, there are some specific Sansui speaker lines that are real sleepers -- and you found one!

Now, for those of you who may scoff at Sansui speakers, we just found out that in 1972 Sansui were producing 40,000 speakers per month!

Kabuki lives on! :thmbsp:
 
I also like my AS-200's. I am hoping to eventually find another pair so I will have 4 to connect to my QS-500.:smoke::smoke::smoke:
 
I absolutely love my AS-100s. What a sleeper. I use them at work with a Yamaha CR 620 using my laptop as my source (streaming and CDs).

The AS series are a great sound, especialy for the dollar. Completely the opposite of most "Traditional" Sansui speakers, they were Sansui's answer to AR in the day.

I'm surprised you like the 100s best. I think you might be quite impressed by the bass that the 300 can produce, once you find yourself a pair...
 
Well I have located a nice pair of AS-300. See my post in the AK pony express if you can be of help.
I agree the AS series is a sleeper. If you ever have a chance to buy them I would reccomend them. The construction is of very good quality as well. The insides are braced quite well and the veneer is quite attractive. Cloth surrounds that seem to last a long time too. I need to check to see if the tweeter in the AS-100 is the same as the AS-200. It seems to sing so much better. Of course the caps on the 200s have never been replaced yet. I like both but the 100 definitely has a nice sound. I wonder why Sansui abandoned these to sell the SP line. I have a couple SP series and while they are OK they are not in the same league.
