well craig is doing his last bond, now they say a female may be the next agent.well that wont cut it bond is a
male secret agent.they say alba a good black actor would have the bond swagger and tom huddleston
a good red haired bond with the bond swagger.he was also great in band of brothers.will anyway their is
alot of females that would be great bonds but it would not seem right it is a part for a male.but then the
atomic blond could be a good bond.

My vote is Tom Hardy. I also think Craig isn't going anywhere, they will pay him what he wants and a lot of Craig's banter is mis quoted.
After the last Bond Spectrum he was asked what's next in an interview right after he wrapped up Sprectum "another Bond?" He said God no because he wanted to do other things before he did another Bond. The headline came out edited as Craig didn't want to do another Bond.
I thought Craig was impressive in Knives Out,he and Tony Collete carried that movie.

Say what?
Idris Elba - he's been gunnin' to be the next Bond, he can pull off the brutal aspect of Bond,
and - 'e looks right propah in a Tux ...
And - e'd pop some Brit sensibilities in that role!

Tom 'uddleson? E's a ginger - and we know Bond aint no ginger!

Charleze Theron - nah, not a Bond, right? But she's a survivor and good actress!

I wasn't disagreeing with what 91fb was saying, I was wondering what he was saying in that misspelled, unpunctuated and confusing block of childish prose.

Now now, be nice - seems I got the gist of his tumble ...

LMFAO. You guys are too much.

Idris Elba.....I dunno, I guess he could pull it off. Whatever happens, we need a solid person to take Bond back into relevant waters. I loved Craig in the first film he did, but he got very wooden near the end.

Tom Hardy is so East End, tho he was stupendous in "Bronson".

I'd like to see more "Bondness" and less of the push to neuter this very specific character.

Have you read any of the Ian Fleming Bond novels? Bond can be quite brutal in them -
thats why Craig was so good in the first film or two - but I think the writers lost the plot after that.
Have you seen "Luther", the British cop show with Idris Elba? He's got that edge ...

I have not, sadly, but that was my understanding as well, and I LOVED the beefy, ass-kicking Craig version.

I also haven't seen "Luthor", so that's now on my radar. Agreed on the writers losing the plot, and having to tie up so many loose ends. It just got....I don't know....silly?

The best James Bond was Roger Moore,
He had a certain charisma no other actor other than Sean Connery had & that is my number 2 pick.
It'll never be the same again.

I say they should toss DC another million or two and get him for one more, then we can worry about it. Maybe by then they'll have realized that women can pull off their own roles and won't keep demeaning them by assuming the only way they can pull in audiences is on name recognition of a male character..

Connery was James Bond.
Period.
Roger Moore is dead - he won't Bond again.
Some younger guys have filled the part since then.
Timothy Dalton was Bond in two films in '87 and '89.
Pierce Brosnan saved the world four times as James Bond, a career milestone he cites as his biggest achievement. He says now is the time to pass the legendary role onto a woman, as Lashana Lynch is rumored to take over as the next 007 from Daniel Craig in the upcoming No Time to Die installment.

Idris Elba for sure. Unfortunately I think he's been under-utilised in general since The Wire & Luther.

It seems that the more money is thrown at him, the less he has to work with. Prometheus is a good example of some great actors being really under-utlised in general (with a terrible script etc) - ie: him and Charlize Theron.

A wise man once said stunts have to be physically possible to be entertaining. One thing that bugs me is characters with limited upper body strength beating the heck out of 220-pound bad guys. Keri Russell on "The Americans" comes to mind. At least Daniel Craig and Sean Connery looked the part.

The story for the next James Bond movie, "No Time To Die", has the character in retirement....and therefore his 007 designation was reassigned to another agent. Yes, a female agent. Of course, Bond had to come out of retirement to save the world.

You guys haven't seen the trailer for "No Time To Die" yet?

If it is up to me, the next actor to play James Bond will be Pierce Brosnan. He will play an older version of Bond, definitely in retirement, but having trouble dealing with his lonely existence. It was rumored that Brosnan pitched this idea to Quentin Tarantino, who was interested.

Or maybe there can be a merger of sorts and "John Wick" can play James Bond and himself, simultaneously even.
