Unlike the 1.5wpc flea amp (6au6/12b4a) I managed to bang together, this SE amplifier will (should) produce a mind boggling 4 watts-per-channel.
Sorry PP fans, I just happen to like SE amps a wee bit better?
The schematic came from Wade's Tube Audio site, and is based on an SE Zenith amplifier schematic, that Wade revised (I hope I got that part right?).
Anyway, I've been scrounging around for parts today.....and so far.....
A pair of NOS RCA 6aq5a tubes.................$11, delivered.
A NOS CBS/Jan 5y3gta rectifier tube..........$12, delivered.
Hunting around on flea-bay this time around proved fruitless, as far as transformers were concerned?
Eh.....you win some.....and you lose some.
Anyway, biting the bullet at the EDCOR web-site, produced a power tranny and a couple of SE OPT's...............................$120, delivered.
With the exception of a few odd caps and resistors, I should have everything else here in the trash shack (.....there's no place like home.....there's no place like home.....there's.....don't lift that leg Toto....), to doom.....er.....complete the project.
We'll see.....................
And yeah, I know the drill already.....pics will be forthcoming.
