Yup, these are great little speakers, especially for the price you paid. Not much bass, but add a sub and they'd make an excellent desktop system when combined with a PC. I own several pairs of NHTs, and quite a few others on this forum do as well.

dont need a sub.. i have my 2 sets of mach 1's for that...all my speakers are hooked to my realistic sta-2080 receiver..

I have a pair of their SuperZero 2.1 2-way speakers and really like them. Currently they serve as part of my Yamaha based alarm clock. i've used them in the office, the shop and have had them for about 5 years now. Great speakers!

I couldn't make out the rear plate picture you took. What model number are those?

Yeah, NHT make some solid speakers and they have some monster towers.
They were based out of and made in California, Ken Kantor was one of the co-founders of the company.

Nice find. I have a set of super ones that I bought in 1999 and then found a pair at a local thrift for the same price... $4.99. They are really very nice speakers.

Some of the biggest "whoa" moments I've had were with this humble little overachiever.

They're fantastic, and you stole them. Good job!

If you really want to see what they'll do, use a passive crossover to shut off anything below 100 hz, and a truly quality sub, and be prepared to have your jaw hit the floor.

No disrespect meant, but pairing them with those Realistics is wasting what makes them special.

Yeah. I remember that. Pissed me off. Everybody had to argue with him and try and prove they were smarter, and that he was WRONG! Thanks, dicks.

NHT made some nice speakers, enjoy, OP.

Lol! perfect description. Conversations tainted with the constant weight of "let me talk out of my arse and try to show off" instead of just pleasant conversational banter about subjects that matter to us. It's small.

Yea, that was very upsetting. While I didn't always agree with Ken's engineering views, I still definitely respected his opinion, and welcomed his input. Plus, Ken was a vast wealth of inside information, that was always good to hear. And sadly, whatever upset Ken, seemed to have forced him to quit on-line forums altogether. He doesn't even participate in the Acoustic Research forum at Classic Speaker Pages. Bummer.

Also, Super Zeros, great little speakers. I have those, plus 3 other sets of NHT speakers. They work well with my AR's too.

Ken used to be a member here, until we pissed him off one time too many.

I wasn't here for that, but I added him on facebook, and it was a huge mistake on my part. He'd get into heated political debates with my friends that degenerated into insults, and threats of violence, from him. Happened more times than I could count. The experience turned me off so much I promptly dumped my NHT collection, and I loved my NHT collection (4x super ones, 1.3, sw10 mk2, SB1).
