NHT SA-3 Subwoofer Amp

i hope all of you are doing well .

to be honest i never heard about NHT before but i searched our friend Google and i found some good reviews about it originally its US company but this amplifier is made in Taiwan and i can get this one for 55$ , does any one give it a try before or the previous model SA-2 .

Specs are :

System Type: 250 watt discrete monaural subwoofer amplifier. Class G.

Frequency Response: 10Hz ? 150Hz, +/-3dB

Distortion: Less than 0.03% at full power



Crossover: Continuously variable low pass crossover: 35-150Hz, 24dB/octave



Selectable high-pass crossover: 65, 80, 100, 125 or 150Hz, 12dB/octave (line level)

Connectors: Line level inputs and outputs

Features: 4 position selectable phase control (0, 90, 180, and 270 degrees)

I have no experience with this unit or any of it's products, but the specs sound good. The problem is that it may not be supported well in the USA if you have a problem. If you can get a valid schematic for it, at least you could get it repaired locally. The other thing I will say is that IMO it is better to have it all in one box, rather than separate pieces, like most of the powered subs. I also don't see speaker output connection so if you do not have a preamp output on your receiver you can a feed that way.

FWIW, my brother used a SA-1 for quite a while. Worked fine/sounded fine for a smaller setup. Never had any problems with it that I know of.

It's a good amp, and was available for their top subwoofer which used the Tang Band 1259(?) woofer out of the 3.3.

That's a great price, but I'd want two of them. I about pulled the trigger on one last year, hoping I could find a second one later.

Then I realized that, although they'd be cool for biamping my NHT 3.3s, since they're not full-range amps, that's all they'd be good for. I decided I'd rather have a single chassis something powerful that could do more than one job.

Then you'd have to stump up for an active crossover as well,
good luck find one for $55, its worth the price for that alone.

Its probably best used driving two seperate 8 ohm subwoofer cabinets.
Two cabinets can be arranged for smoother room response. Best is
probably about a third along the back wall and about a third along
the sidewall furthest from the other cabinet, from the back wall.

If I recall correctly, NHT was manufactured by the same Company that used to make NAD.
