NHT Tweeter repair

I'm trying to replace the tweeter on my NHT ST4 (right side). I can't figure out how to remove the tweeter. There is no access from the rear, and if I remove the 6.5" driver, there is a wall between the tweeter chamber.

Does anyone know how to remove the tweeter? I assume it's similar in the SB1, SB2, SB3, SC1 speakers all made by NHT.

Check with member F1nut. He has SB3's, and has been inside his, doing upgrades.

Though, I have to wonder if the tweeters are press-fitted into the cabinet? How else could they be mounted? :dunno:
 
That's exactly what I was thinking, I just need some confirmation before I go nuts on them. I'll PM him....
 
He responded with:

"On the back you will see a round black circle. It's one of those peel and stick types and it's likely stuck pretty well after all the years. Anyway, remove that and you will see an Allen head bolt head. Unscrew that and you will be able to pull the tweeter and the aluminum heatsink rod out from the front. Be careful, the lead wires are short. "

Yup looked into my SB3 yesterday to find the number of the tweeter and saw that metal bar to the back panel. Removed black disc revealing Allen socket. Bar screws tweeter in place. Odd, but now we know.

There were a pair of tweeters on the bay for those that might be in need. I don't know the price of one from NHT if still available.
