NHT-V2 vs Klipsch RF3

NHT-V2 vs Klipsch RF3. I'm curious as to which would be considered the better speaker? I have a chance to get either one for a steal but am wondering if either is even worth getting. I'd probably push them with either a Denon AVR-1911 or Yamaha RX-V675 or Rotel RSX-1058 as a secondary setup. Would either of these work better with one or the other speaker options? I also have the option of adding either a Denon POA-2800, Adcom 555, or a pair of Marantz MA500U amps that I have that aren't being used right now.

If they are a steal, why not get both and do an in home comparison?
Much better than asking for opinions.

My only advise on amps, keep the Marantz 500s unused, or sell them. ;)

Two very different tonal balances between those speakers. Both good, but this shouldn't be a tough choice. Smooth and warm, with very good bass, go for the NHTs. Dynamic, bright, and forward, pick the Klipsch. Any of the amps should work too.

Good luck.

Thanks. I'd never heard their sound before, but I got the NHTs. Still wrapped in unopened original boxes. They are new old stock. $150 and an hour drive for the pair. Surrounds and everything looks like they just came off the factory floor. I can't wait to connect them this weekend.

Awesome, and a great deal too...! They should provide excellent fatigue free sound. Warm and extended. No sub required. Plus, they have the front panel switch, to select for a music balance, or a video balance. The switch slightly changes the balance and dispersion. Wider dispersion for video, more focused for audio. My NHT VT-1a's use the switch. They sound good either way.

Congrats! NHT VT-2s are great speakers. I worked on a buddy's set, and was very impressed. I'm a big fan of NHTs from that era. The video switch on the front needed some Deoxit spray, so keep that in mind if you have any issues. Let us know how they sound!
