That makes no difference. Clairtone made some very nice tubed consoles.

just out of curiosity, does anyone have a reccomendation on some decent speakers to put into a vintage console like this? I have an Electrohome solid state console that I bought for my cabin. It looks beautiful.

I would not mind changing out the speakers (4 identical 4x8 full range) to a pair of woofers and tweeters with a decent crossover. I am assuming the power output would be very low so the speakers would have to be very efficient.

I think it might be a cool project. I was checking parts express but could not find an obvious choice.

That's actually a pretty complicated question. First off, how much power does the amp produce? What kind of sensitivity do the drivers need to have in order to satisfy your musical tastes? How big are the enclosures? Are they sealed, ported or open? How much room do you have to mount the drivers? Do you like horns? Could you build a new baffle board if necessary?
