Very nice set of Tube Gear...

no pics of the tape player....but the Sherwoods look nice.

The s5000 II is about 27 Watts per channel.

A bit far for me to go....and don't really feel like dropping any $ right now....

Thoughts? Not much meat on the bone at this price IMO.

Especially now that it can't be tested.....

turned it on and it went hiss, then dark. Yay. Probably needs a power supply overhaul like most old gear. Hopefully no further damage. Sherwood mercifully did have fuses on their gear so with any luck it did it's job.


Faceplate is in nice shape, the knobs have that common crusty whatever on them. Not a fan of the cabinets, but they may have nice speakers inside. Too rich for my blood.

I like the copper plated chassis on this unit...plus the design is kinda cool.

Glad you think it is probably just a fuse....and a rebuild....so not a problem.

The units should be in good shape...being protected in that cab...

But you can pick em up on Ebay for around $350...."all day"

That the deal also includes a Sony Tape player, and a turntable of unknown make.....might make the deal?

Anyway, glad to see some potential action. There was a beat up GE console with a nice looking amp for $65.....I'm waiting for a return email....
