I bought a Nikko 8085 last week from a guy I work with. Anybody have any info on this receiver, not much to be found on the internet. After a week of listening to it I'm pretty impressed. Nice warm sound, similar to my Pioneer SX-838, but a tad cleaner.

Yes! Especially the earlier ones. I am truly amazed at the sound of my NR-1015. Blows my sx-750 away. Not talking power either (the nikko has plenty of that), it is a warmer sound than the sx-750, but still clear without fuzziness. Reception is excellent as well.. Still like the 750, but I favor the sound of the Nikko.

Keep it a secret! YD

My Dad has one. Uses it to this day on a pair of big 12" 3 way JBL's.

He loves it. Plus it has three sets of speaker outputs... a feature that became less common in the late 70's early 80's. Even the big Sansui G-8000, 9000 didn't have that (but they have other qualities of course :))
