Nikko amp and preamp; good price?

Hey everyone!

My local record shop has a matching Nikko Alpha 230 power amp and Beta 30 preamp. The power amp looks to be in great working condition, albeit with a few scrapes and scratches on the case. The preamp, on the other hand, definitely needs work. He says that the volume control is very scratchy and that the right channel is much quieter than the left, no matter the source.

He's asking $100 for the Alpha and $20 for the Beta because of the issues. Do you think this is a good price for these two? Now, I'm just starting to get into audio repair, and neither of those issues seems too bad, so this might be a good project. What do you guys think?

Get it. I was after that preamp a little while ago and that is a low low price.

Most likely preamp issue can be fixed with Deoxit. At least one can hope.
As for the amp-it's a very good price. I'd say go get them....

Even if it costs you an additional $100 to fix the weak volume issue you still made a great deal.
