Nikko Beta 30 relay

I've read a few threads on this: the relay on my Nikko Beta 30 Pre amp is acting up and cutting out the audio haphazardly. When I tap on the relay with the handle of my screw driver, thump and the audio clears up. I sprayed it and it got better but still cuts out and needs replacing.

What relay do I need and where can I buy it today? Can I eliminate it?

I think its purpose is to mute when headphones are plugged in --because the headphones currently do not mute the audio outputs

Photos say a thousand words. Is there a part number printed on the relay ? Be helpful to view the relays foot print.
 
If it's the relay listed in the manual, namely (Fujitsu) FBR221D012, then it may not be an easy 'swap' - you really need to get some data from what's there, dimensions, footprint pattern & dimensions, and the spec. numbers on it ?

Sorry for the delay everyone! I didn't know work would take me from 8am to 12am this morn lol.

At any rate, Thanks for all the responses! I took a picture yesterday (attached) but I don't think it is too helpful and I have to figure out how to get under the board it is on to count pins in use (weird board mounting).

I will try to sandpaper it like the article above to see if it can get me through next Satuday and I can order a replacement

I had no luck finding a datasheet. So to find a possible replacement need what Goldie99 listed. The physical dimensions of the relay. The wiring connections of the relay. A pic of the underside of the relay. Determining the spacing of the pins to match a current type relay. The size of the relay itself. Found this http://www.foxtango.org/FT-102/FT-102 Relay Page.htm . The relay was used in ham gear also. They had they're problems also with that relay.
 
So, it was easy to get under the relay--6 little screws. I reflowed the solder joints to it while I was in there and it seemed to take more volume before it cut out. I then took the cover off the relay and cleaned the contacts with 1500 grit sandpaper. Then the two reeds (?) looked a little bent where they weren't supposed to be (I bought this second hand). I figured, having nothing to lose, I pressed down on them with a tiny screwdriver and the problem went away. It started working perfectly and has been for 4 days or so.
 
Sounds like you've managed to confirm the problem, and at least temporarily overcome it - but I suspect you're now living on borrowed time..... the contact surfaces in the relay 'burn' away with arcing over the years, so while 'sanding' can remove the carbon & dirt built up on the contacts, it can't restore the original contact surfaces.

If it was mine, I'd use it as is, and keep looking a new relay.
