Happy Holidays

Recently I picked-up a nice, relatively clean Nikko NR-1019. PO told me that one of the channels is dropping out occasionally. Long story short got unit on my bench - relatively clean inside, usual dust levels. Sure enough one of the two channels drops out when it's cold, but when switched into mono mode both channels are rock solid. Also after couple of minutes warm-up distortion hash goes away. Found that balance (L/R) control has no effect. Hit all controls with DeoxIt. Measured across potentiometer pins sure enough - open. Downloaded service manual from HiFi engine - channel balance pot is R599, your typical 250 kOhm potentiometer. I suspect that intermittent nature of the distortion is due to failed pot - it is also present in Aux mode, which by passes all pre-amps, and feed right into front end of main amplifier. Mono switch ties both inputs together before balance control.
Question where one would find a replacement potentiometer? Nikko is a rare bird, finding good used pot is rather doubtful. Any idea which manufacturer they used for pots back in 1979??? Service manual does not list this info for passives. Thanks!!

Update 2015-12-31
Happy New Year!
I was able to find a company in China that was willing to run a small batch of custom potentiometers: 250kOhm with center tap, a 25mm long shaft. Replacement unit fits and works perfectly in my Nikko NR-1019 balance control. Here are the glory photos. I have some extras if you need to replace your balance pot in the Nikko receiver. I have some extras available to AK community at reasonable prices.
