Nikko NR-1050 defaults to radio when powered up. Help? User Manual?

My Nikko NR-1050 defaults to radio when powered up. Is this normal?

Can I change it so that it it powers up where I left it? I don't have the remote. I found a service manual but no user manual.

Can anyone hook me up?

I just put it into service after my old Onkyo integrated blew up last week.

i am going to bet that to save the setting, it has to be put in standby with the remote and that the main power switch performs a full shutdown. i've got an onkyo preamp and a luxman receiver from the same era that does the same thing.

I'll see if I can get a programable remote configured and give this a try. Thanks.

Mine resets to FM and volume level 2. My remote no longer works. I’ll look for my manual.
Honestly I don’t think you can change the default!

BTW, I couldn't get my programable remote to work with the receiver even though it supposedly should have.

I put fresh batteries in my remote and the only function that works is “Mute” although the sensor light flashes for every function. Your 1050 is probably in the same boat.

Still a great receiver, mine has been in garage duty for at least 20 years in all kinds of weather .

It is a fine receiver and this is a minor annoyance, but the black case and lack of knobs make me appreciate old silver-faced gear. It's much easier to deal with - dim lights and old eyes.
