Nikko NR-1415

I have a Nikko NR-1415 receiver that is in the process of being rebuilt. I am in need of a AM antenna replacement, as the original was broken off. Any advice on a source where I could obtain a replacement AM antenna for this monster? Also, would an AM antenna from another Nikko model work with the NR-1415? Maybe I could look into another model that is being parted out.

Any assistance would be helpful?

The webpage listed below is a good source for used vintage audio parts. Unfortunately, they don't have your receiver in stock as a parts unit right now.

But you can always check back as you never know when they may get one in.

That is a handsome unit.. didn't know nikko's looked that good! You have another option if you're really into AM is you have a connection for an external AM antenna next to the fm. Oh it is so much better than those sticks even tuned. So till you get a replacement, that one is a fold out on a hinge.

Just an idea and cheap.

Peek at the manual shows that the external AM connection goes to the ferrite bar, and that the ferrite bar is also part of the AM frontend (adjustable coil built into the bar.) However, I would think a similar type antenna would work, but don't know off the top of my head which ones. Good luck with it...

The 4 colored wires are coming out of the back of the receiver, however, the black rod is snapped completely off. I have not been able to find a replacement antenna from an old NR-1415 receiver, and was wondering if any AM antenna from other vintage receivers may work?

Do you still have the antenna and are the wires still attached? then it would be a matter of rigging something up to attach to the back. It would be helpful to find a replacement if you had the orig. and can't be repaired.

No.. not just any antenna will do and unless pretty close in size and 4 wire you may need to align the AM section. As I said above you can get an AM ant. inside use loop pretty cheap or make one that screws onto the AM terminal. Again. for outdoor. you simply run a long wire and ground it for better performance. as in the link.

btw I did check on the nr-1019 user manual and they are identical for the ant. and AM outdoor terminal. the ferrite ant. appears to have it's own lead terminal.
