Nikko Preamp Eq Hook Up

I have just aquired a Nikko 440 Amp with a Nikko Beta 40 preamp. The question I have is I want to hook up the Nikko 20 equilizer, and I am not sure how to. If anyone could help that would be great. Does the eq output to the Preamp or the amp.

I have just aquired a Nikko 440 Amp with a Nikko Beta 40 preamp. The question I have is I want to hook up the Nikko 20 equalizer, and I am not sure how to. Does the eq output to the Preamp or the amp.

Equalizers’ Line In terminals are to connect to the Tape Out (or Tape Rec) of a preamp, and equalizers’ Line Out terminals are to connect to the Tape In (or Tape Play) of a preamp.
So try the two following methods:

1. Connect the equalizers’ Line In terminals to the Tape 1 Out (or Tape 1 Rec, I don’t know how they are exactly called on your preamp) of the preamp, and the equalizers’ Line Out terminals to the Tape 1 In (or Tape 1 Play) of the preamp. Select the source to take the signal from with the “Rec Out” selector of the preamp and make it play. Switch ON the EQ function on the EQ and deactivate its Tape monitor button. Select “Tape 1” with the input selector of the preamp, and if your hear the source selected, try the EQ’s effects.

2. Connect the equalizers’ Line In terminals to the Tape 2 Out (or Tape 2 Rec) of the preamp, and the equalizers’ Line Out terminals to the Tape 2 In (or Tape 2 Play) of the preamp. Select the source to take the signal from with the “Rec Out” selector of the preamp and make it play. Switch ON the EQ function on the EQ and deactivate its Tape monitor button. Select “Tape 2” with the input selector of the preamp, and if your hear the source selected, try the EQ’s effects.
