Nils Petter Molvaer: any other fan here?

I'm a huge fan of this great Norwegian trumpetist. This is Electro-Jazz (or Nu Jazz, if you prefer) at the best, with hints of Miles Davis mixed with electronica.

"Khmer" and "Solid Ether" (by ECM), along with "Er" and "American Compilation", are among my favorite recordings, but all the others are awesome too. :thmbsp:

He has also collaborated with several ECM artists (Arild Andersen comes to mind at the moment).

I've not heard Mr. Molvaer but will check him out sometime. I like the Polish trumpeter Tomasz Stanko, who also records on ECM.

Coming from a background of listening to lots of electronica, I found him on a Talvin Singh album that was a compilation of sorts. Pretty neat stuff, I definitely dig "Song of Sand".

Same here. Saw them live for the second time a couple months ago in Atlanta. Incredible performance!
