Okay. So.

After 4.5 years of Nitty Gritty Record Master ownership I finally bought the acrylic dust cover for my ng rcm, the DC-2. I'm not impressed with hand-made acrylic dust covers, but I accept the vinyl reality of 2015.

My question is what kind of mods have been done to the DC-2?

I don't like the idea of acrylic rubbing against the 'wood' cabinet of my rcm, so I sliced slivers of Soft Touch gripper bars (0054359) and fitted them on the dust cover edges that come into contact with the ng rcm wood frame. It seems to work fine.

Any thoughts guys?

My thoughts are that suddenly the old rag I throw over my NG when I'm not using it seems insufficient and I want to buy a cover.

Thanks a lot, jerk! ;)

Yeah, despite the unflattering attributes of modern acrylic dustcovers - I also own a Gingko dustcover for a Technics sh-15b3 base - the NG dustcover improves the RCM aesthetic exponentially. It transorms the rcm into a mysterious dark cuboid the living room; the knob and felt lips are not quite visible under normal lighting.
