It's a very cool tuner. When you touch the tuning knob, the scope display automatically switches from lissajous display to tuning display, and the nixie tubes are fantastic to look at.

i have to say i find it interesting that he didn't mention shipping to europe. he only says postage to us/canada and that he wont ship to asia. now if i had $600 i'd take a road trip to italy, pick it up locally then swap out the power transformer for a 220 one (it's not exactly rocket science...). but thats just me and i do get a lot of dumb ideas...

Verrry cool tuner -- have never seen anything quite like it. Those nixie tubes add an excellent stereo geek appeal. :thmbsp:

When these came out I had for trial the 1st gen SAE preamp and power amp. This SAE stuff was similar to what Yamaha was marketing wise, extra attendion paid to the user interface. Amazing feel, smooth controls, everything just felt right. This is where McIntosh falls down (bet you never epected a Mc slam from me). The tuner was in the very good category though not quite up to say a Marantz 20b in sound but darn close. Price was a touch high and of course the technology from a home user point was new. It is 1 of the few tuners I considered owning long term as a permanent unit. Today, the price including shipping to the US is a tad high compared to alternatives but as it is the 1st version which I liked better than the B sonically, probably worth it to someone looking for a really good tuner that is unigue and rare.
