Interesting crust. We've done meatzza (meat crust, of course), cheese crust, and veggie crusts, but not cream cheese.

I'm a type one diabetic and have eaten a high fat low carb diet for almost two years. I lost 40lbs in about 5 months, gained 5 pounds back and have been 180 now for the last year. Cholesterol and triglycerides have flipped from unhealthy to perfect. It is a myth that eating fat will make you fat and clog your arteries, carbs are the villians diabetic or not. Research the latest nutritional studies and I promise you will rethink the food pyramid.

I will be trying this recipe, thanks for sharing.

The first page references the Harvard dept. I just linked to ;). Notice that saturated fat is still strongly recommended against, and this recipe is LOADED with it. Not that I'm knocking the recipe. I love pizza.

like mulester said, it's not for your everyday meal - just once in a while when you have that craving...we all do. btw, yes, carb is really bad for you not sure if more than saturated fat, but it's as bad in my understanding.

I eat boat loads of saturated fat, fatty steak, hamburger, corned beef, pepperoni, pastrami, salami, bacon, susage, dark meat poultry with skin, salmon, shrimp, crab, almonds, green beans, asparagus, broccoli, cauliflower, olives, cheese, mayonayse, butter, small portions of berries, canned whip cream, and dark chocolate not much else. No bread, candy, rice, spuds, high sugar fruits or vegetables sugar. I eat as much and as often as I wish.

The rant you linked to does not recommend that you eat boat loads of saturated fat at all. It is well known now that you can lose weight by eating lots of fat and little carbs. That doesn't mean ANY diet with lots of fats and little carbs is healthy. It just means you might not be/stay fat. If you want to see a skinny guy that isn't very healthy,. I am sorry about the thread hijack. I have poor impulse control.

White bread, White sugar, HFCS, GMO soy. Those are probably the worst things you can eat. Your body needs fat, it is essential for normal body processes, cell growth, etc. But wheat, corn syrup, white sugar, etc, aren't really fit for human consumption. I believe the whole fat is fattening thing is a bit of a misconception. It's not the patty and the cheese, it's the big fluffy bun and the pop. Even still, I am trying to eat fatty foods in moderation, but I don't deprive myself.

This pizza looks quite yummy.

There is mountains of evidence supporting the benifits of saturated fat, refuting claims that it ANY ill effects. We have been told for so long that saturated fat is bad for us it is hard to wrap our thoughts around the opposite. Eating fat and cholesterol do not raise cholesterol. At diagnosis my bad cholesterol was 180 good was 42 and tryglicerides 155. Now they are 118, 64, 45 respectively. This is what Dr Bernstien said would happen and he has treated 1000's of diabetics and written one of if not the best the best selling books on diabetes. There are several diabetic hostboards, people folling the low carb protocol seem to be having a much easier time managing their weight and bloos sugar levels.
