Noisy DCD-1560 Transport Question?

My DCD-1560 sounds like a thrashing machine spinning the CD. If you put a few ounces of weight on the arm it quiets right down. Has the magnet lost it's strength? They are glued wop sided which doesn't help. But, at least it sounds good.

Sounds like a damping issue. Check if you see any pieces of foam or other damping material resting on the bottom of the deck.

It's slop in the little magnet assembly that sits on top of the CD. I just don't know how to stop it. Might just put enough lead tape on top of it to quiet it down. A tiny amount of pressure on the arm with my finger will silence it. Could be the magnet that pulls them together is weak. Not sure it can be replaced.

OK. If anybody runs in to this or cares. The magnet has to overcome the spring on the back of the assembly, whatever you call it. If it does then the upper magnet and spindle free float on the CD. If the spring is too strong it allows the magnet to rub inside its place in the carrier. So , I took the spring off and stretched it just a little. Quiet as a mouse now.

It has to do with the topdown clamp. As the tray goes in, it lowers the top clamp. Check the belts A and B. Finally, use 0.050" tiniest allen wrench to loosen the allen wrench on the spindle. You may have to lower or raise the spindle.
