Noisy platter on Elac Miracord 50H

Can anyone guide me as to how to cure the noisy platter on my Elac Miracord 50H?

Can you describe the noise and the frequency (how often, not pitch)?

My 40A has an intermittent "once a revolution" squeak that was driving me nuts. I discovered that it was the single-play spindle. By holding the spindle still while the platter turned, there was no squeak. After puzzling on this, and repeating the "test", the squeak pretty much went away.

I'm not sure how different the 40 and 50 platters are.

Did you ever fix this problem? I am having the same with my 50h. The platter noise is noticeable and when stopped, sort of grinds to a halt?

On my 50H it turns out one of the screws from underneath was long enough to cause a once per Rev scratch noise. Filed it down and no more noise. I guess I could have added another shim to the platter stack also, but the height was good.
