Non-inductive power cables

Hello everyone,

I'm going to restore a Phase Linear 700 II which lacks the power cable. Someone recommended to replace the original with a non-inductive cable but I have no idea where to find something similar nor how to braid it by myself. Is there a precise way to braid the conductors together? Any suggestion about an affordable ready to use cable in case? Thanks.

It makes negligible difference. Just use an ordinary cable.

Shouldn't the inductive properties of the cable be canceled due to the cables being side by side and AC?

Hmmm... Well, strictly speaking there is no such thing as a truly 'non-inductive power cable' :scratch2:

Sir.Byrd is correct when he says that some of the inductance will be cancelled by having the cables (hot & neutral) next to each other. :yes:

I agree with Bob91343 - just use ordinary cable. :yes:

You'll be asking for non-inductive transformers next !

Non-Inductive transformers ARE quite simply the best, but it's exceedingly hard to find them. Used in a power supply, with the addition of Bi-directional diodes, creates just about the blackest black that you've ever heard! It also serves to elevate the quality of the essential Nano-dynamics that underpin everything else.

Unfortunately, there seems to be an awful lot of misconceptions about the nature of SOTA sound. I really don't know where we'd be today if it weren't for the unstinting efforts of the various Imagineers that inhabit the Internet, as well as the State Hospitals..

Actually, a shielded power cable isn't a bad idea. IIRC, the shield is connected to the ground pin at the plug...there can be some reduction in extraneous noise. Otherwise...any good-quality power cord should be A-OK.
