Non Shi(i)t Power Supply for DAC & PHONO

Can anybody recommend a 16V power supply that can power (2) different components? Is it a good idea? or are independent power supplies a better way to go?

I like this PS but it can only handle 1 component from what I can tell:

Background: I am thinking to buy a Shiit Modi 2 Uber (16V) by Christmas time. I already own a Shiit Mani (16V). I like the Mani except for the flimsy power supply. The Modi comes with the same flimsy wall adapter as the Mani. Shiit offers a floor wart that can power both components but it looks like the same "shiit" to me.

I have a couple Schiit products, a Mani and a Modi 2 uber and they do say on their site they provide China power paks. This floor-wart unit offers some nice compactness especially since these products use such a small amount of power, amps wise. If you buy a new modi2 uber from schiit, why not try to get them to sell you the floor wart and take the original 16?v power pak out of the box, and give you a $10 credit, same price they charge for a new single wall-wart? worth a shot.

of course, here in the US we all want perfect products for cheap dollars, ergo, chinese ****. well, we asked for it.....

Hi thanks for the reply....are you powering the Mani & Modi with the wall adapters?...do you have any noise/hum problems in your system? My main concern are not the ergonomics and "phone like" nature of the adapters but I am concern that they can pick up unwanted noise in the chain. I will be using these components in an active system and I want to make sure I feed clean stable power to get the most out of them.
 
I am using the original wall warts, and have no issues.
I have read where some users use a 9v battery, or something like that, and suddenly its like nite vs day, supposedly in the improvement end! Not sure I buy it though...
 
A pure DC source is always quieter than rectified AC, but whatever battery you use must have the voltage you need and the current capacity to meet the device requirements. In general it is a hassle. Phono preamps are OK because they don't draw much current.
 
A couple of things I have had which came with wall warts have now have linear PSUs which I built for them. I made up a +/- 3 to 24Vdc variable PSU using a 22-0-22 volt toroidal transformer, a few diodes, caps and resistors together with LM317/LM377 linear regulators. With a bit of careful design and build you end up with a very quiet PSU which is adjustable for most low voltage needs. It might be worth searching around for some kits. There are various companies that supply them. It will beat a wall wart hands down.

It sounds a bit above my skill level but I will investigate...roughly how much money did you spend in parts?
 
I have both mani and modi multibit which I originally used with their supplied wall warts. Performance was great but the size of the wall warts took up a little too much space on surge suppressor and blocked off 2 extra outlets. To replace the 2 wall warts I ordered 1 floor wart from Schiit and gained back 3 outlets. To my surprise I also gained a very audible improvement in sound quality. After some thought as to why this made a difference I now believe the floor wart allowed me to isolate the power supply and 16vac outputs from interference from the incoming power. Very much worth the small price.
