noob c220 "balanced in" question

i know this is stupid, but i've read so much that now i'm confused: could one hypothetically connect a device to this preamp via balanced ins, and then listen to it through the UNbalanced outputs to poweramp and beyond? you can, right?

a related question: do you lose any of the unbalanced inputs if you use the balanced inputs?

thanks, sorry, etc.

To your first question: You can do that. There are balanced to unbalanced converter circuits in the preamp.

To your second question: I'm not sure on that one but I suspect that you can use both sets of inputs. I am using my experience with the C2200 to try to help out. Perhaps someone with a C220 will chime in.

Cheers,

David

As far as ballanced inputs on the C220, you have 2: CD & DVD
You have 8 unbalanced inputs, including phono, but you can't add them to get a total of 10, if that's what you're asking. You can't have different sources plugged into the CD unbalanced and balanced inputs.
Hope this answered your question...
