Norman Labs Model 10 Recap

I want to recap my model 10 Norman Labs speakers. I am not sure how to access the crossover network and don’t want to make mistakes. Any suggestions?

From pictures, I'd pull the top woofer, as that should be around the area of the crossover. Just work through the woofer hole, as the crossover doesn't appear to be accessed from the rear of the cabinet.

Good luck. :)

Purchased my Model 10’s in Marshall Tx in 1978. Have yet to find anything comparable. Persistent problem though, the twin circuit breakers that need to be reset from time to time. Have never overplayed them so I don’t believe that’s the root cause of the problem. I need to press, hold and release one, the other or both several times to trick them back to full glory operation. The swithches seem to be sticky and rough when depressed. Going to spray some WD-40 electric cleaner on each to see if that resolves.d

Yes, they are a problem. Replace with better, install a poly switch, put in fuses, just remove them. Your choice.

But let’s ask the op if he has gotten around to the recap project and if he replaced the circuit breakers. What about it @drdave3 ?

Wow. Thanks for the replies. Actually, I never got notices on this post and (ahem) kinda gave up and forgot about it. Now that I see your posts, I will give it another attempt. Thank you for the advice.

Did you ‘watch’ this thread, top right above first post, and select to receive an email?

But you did clear something up for me. I see threads started and the op never comes back to see the follow up posts. I guess this indicates they were expecting notification. But in some cases I expect folks just forget where they posted on the web.

When you get inside, post pics, folks will guide you through this. Of course, you need to drop in and see the results. Maybe try the ‘Watch’ option with email notification.
