not much out there about these speakers.
may be picking up a pair of model 82 or model 7s tomorrow.

anybody have thoughts on these two or norman labs in general?

the model 82's i heard today sounded great.

the other that i might get instead is a pair of Snell JII. anybody have thoughts on these?
problem is they are at two different places so i can't sit down and directly A/B them. and they both sound really good. decisions decisions

That was 2 different generations, obviously, with the Model 7's being the earlier version and the 82's the later version. My pick of the two would most likely be the Model 7's as they seem to be more "rare" than some others (well, most all NL's are elusive). The Model 7 was the only model with the single 12" woofer and (2) 1" soft dome tweeters as most everything used their 10" (Credence) woofers or something smaller. Get those 7's if the price is right...or both pairs! The surrounds are easy to replace on those woofers, too.

Here are the spec's on the 82's. I can't find anything on the 7's.

Model 82
(1) 10" woofer
(1) 1" tweeter
8-ohm Nominal Impedance
Crossover frequency 2.5kHz
91dB sensitivity measured @ 2.83 volts/1 meter
Minimum power handling 15 watts
Maximum IEC Noise Power Handling 75 watts
Mazimum Music Power HAndling 150 watts
Dimensions 23 x 12 x 9 (H x W x D)
Weight 52 lbs per pair

I guess I would personally choose the NL's over the Snells....but I might be biased. :D

thanks for the info.
im going back over there this afternoon. we'll see what happens!

Specs ? N.L. 10s ?

To revive an old thread since there are so few about N.L....anyone have the specs of the N.L. 10s ? 1st gen. with rubber surrounds please. With best regards, vsat88.
