NOS TDK SM 60korea/thailand version

Since it appears nobody is making chrome tapes anymore, i have just seen my local guitar center has boxes of these in stock. These are not the old blue/white ones but a green/yellow wrapper and are made by imation in Thailand/Korea.
I liked the old ones and used them for multi-track recording as well as for recording music on my system.
does anybody know if these are any good vs the old blue/white version since i'm sick of trawling ebay for old maxells and tdks and being outbid at the last minute.

There are other sources of new high-bias cassettes online other than E-Prey. Amazon, Office Depot, JR.com, and several different tape duplication companies including NAC. You might want to try the Akai GX cassettes which have generally gotten reasonable reviews from most users too. Use google; you will discover a multitude of non-ePrey options.

And I would not personally be inclined to pay a premium for TDK SM tapes over TDK SA. I don't have any of the new Korean tapes, but the previous (japanese/taiwanese) versions were absolutely identical, except for the premium price of the SMs vs the SAs. So I would be inclined to get whichever is cheaper.

thanks. i've orderd a brick of the akai gx's and of the sony xr metals. we'll see how they turn out. i also scored some sealed scotch xsii-s's for cheap which i always liked back in the day.
