Not a Goodwill 'score' but I think I got a good deal

I won a mint condition (exterior anyway) Yamaha RX-596 yesterday at shopgoodwill -- winning bid $57. I think I got a good deal even with shipping and a $3 handling fee tacked on.

Anybody have one of these? I have an RX-595 in the garage. Bought new in '95, sounds good, needs a little deoxit on the pure direct witch every once in a while. Anything I need to know about the 596? How different can't it be?

I have one that I use regularly. It is a decent, solid piece. The only trouble that I've had with it is that occasionally it will develop some intermittent static that goes away when you turn the selector switch back and forth a few times. I used garden variety contact cleaner on it but it didn't help much. I'll try Deoxit on it sometime. I also have a Yamaha amp (I forget the number) that looks to be nearly identical, just minus the tuner and an RX-550 that have the same problem. I wonder if this is a wider problem than just my experience. Congratulations!
