I've been wanting a Denon DP-4xF or DP-5xF for several years. One popped up on my local CL (DP-52F) about a month ago for $300. Within the last week, he dropped the price to $250. This morning I offered him $200 and he accepted. It's a 2-owner deck in excellent condition (usual light swirls and very mild hazing on the dust cover) and has an Acutex 315 cartridge mounted with < 50 hours. I am thrilled! Denons are phenomenal tables. You did good. I think it is a score also - to find one locally is what we all are looking for.... Dan :music:
 
Congrats Dave!! I too wanted and looked for a Denon deck until this came to my attention....a 1 owner DP-45F.....lovely condition like yours.

I have enjoyed it immensely as I know you will!!!

A little research has revealed the cartridge to be an Acutex LPM (Lowest Possible Mass) 315 III STR, quite the wonderful surprise as this was their 2nd from TOTL!

Well, I decided to move the Dual to my office system (NAD 1600 + 2400PE; Recilinear IIIs + AR Holographic Imaging M1s) and moved its Sony PS-FL770 to the bedroom system (Kenwood Nine G; NLAs).

I'd say you slightly overpaid for that cartridge and got the TT free. Nice deal!

Nice pick up Dave:thmbsp:. I researched that beauty to when I saw it listed. Glad to see it went to a good home where it'll be used and appreciated.

Yeah from what I've read (there isn't a lot of info), that cartridge is quite highly regarded. Although it would appear that I will be SOL if/when it comes time to replace the stylus as they are unobtainium.
