not getting all notifications

ever since the upgrade of a few years ago I do not get all notifications for threads I have watched/subscribed to. In the old site I would get notifications for a thread until I went in and unwatched that thread.

this is what appears to happen now:
I will post in a thread, get a notification, click on the link which takes me to the thread, I will get another notification when someone posts, I will click the link etc. then after about 3 notifications they stop coming until I post in that thread or possibly visit that thread again at some point.

They aren't going in to a spam folder (I don't have one). They aren't being filtered by my ISP. they just stop.

I want to receive notifications for threads I subscribe to until I decide I don't want them.

I don't have mine setup to receive email notification, just the alerts. If I don't visit the thread after receiving an alert, the alerts will stop until I visit the thread again. I believe visiting the thread is required to continue receiving alerts.

I think you might've hit the nail on the head, though I'm speculatin' as I follow no threads.

Check "watched threads" tab in header to update.

ok, it's been a while since I was last on this site and the issue is that if I do not click on the link in the emails it stops sending notifications. this is very annoying since the emails contain the post and sometimes I just read that and forget to click the link. It should keep sending emails until I say stop. I have not been able to find a setting for this.
