I saw your picture of the Star Sapphire. :thmbsp:
I first heard my ProAcs on the end of a SS with Audio Research electronics.The dealer was the Australian distributor of Infinity and Audio Research.He was an agent for SOTA and then a few years later changed to Oracle.
Funnily enough I had a deposit with him to buy a SOTA Star,and bought an Oracle instead.
They're all nice enough turntables. :yes:
It should sound great with the Spectral.

is the best pre ever ,take a photo to down part pcb ,copper side,please.
 
Just looked that up. Looking at the print I see they spared no expense when it comes to circuitry. Looks to be DC through and through as well.

I have to laugh at the THD rating, 0.01 % ? I bet its one tenth that by looking at it. I'd like to throw one on the old HP which can measure down to 0.0016 %.

Nice nother thing I never heard of before.

The unit has direct coupled outputs so I would expect you are correct, DC in is DC out. There are also a set of AC coupled outputs on the unit.

Gonna need a better old HP to measure the Crown DL-2, 0.0008% at rated output, 2.5V, 20-20kHz. The 1kHz number is .0003% as is the IMD, 10V out or less.
 
A guy down in Sandy Hook has/had one of these for sale, they are nice preamps indeed. I had a chance at one awhile back but the Perreaux SA3 I got instead is pretty stellar also. Congrats!
