NS-C444 tweeter repair

Hi,

I have a center speaker Yamaha NS-C444 with a dead tweeter. I figured I might as well try to fix it myself as it is already broken... I have been looking for a coil replacement online but all I can find is some parts that are advertised as replacement for my speaker but they are 8 ohms while my tweeter is a 6 ohms.

Will that really make a difference? If so where can a find replacement parts for that speaker? Keep in mind that I am based in Europe and would prefer to avoid the high import taxes of buying from the US...

Thanks a lot!

Have you confirmed that the tweeter itself is dead? If so, I would not assume that any replacement parts you find online are correct unless they're made by Yamaha.

My suggestion would be to search AK for tweeter repair and you'll find how some of our members have successfully repaired a tweeter voice coil by carefully disassembling, unwinding one revolution of the wire and then resoldering.

The tweeter read infinite ohm with the multimeter. I will have a look at those threads, thanks!
