Numark CDN225 strange problem

Hey everyone

Got a numark dual DJ cd player here, With a strange problem..

Powers up, Power LED illuminates... The mixer screen lights up too.. But thats it....

The mixer screen wont display any text on the screen, Only the backlight will light up...
Also the buttons dont respond either... Pressing the eject button on the mixer/screen panel, Does nothing etc..
But pressing eject on the CD player section, Ejects the cd draws just fine...

Also, when powering on, or inserting a CD... It doesnt even attempt to read a CD... No disc spin.. No attempt of laser etc..

Ive probed around a little bit, On the power connectors that go to each CD board.. All correct voltages seam to be present...
I also inspected power board and CD drive boards... A few solder joints looked iffy, But i touched them up with leaded solder... Still exactly the same...
Visually, i see no bulging or leaky capacitors..
Voltage regulators all have correct voltages in and out of them..
The socketted chips, i removed, cleaned legs and re-inserted...

Any ideas of where to look?

Even if the screen mixer deck isnt connected.. The cd player section will still not attempt to spin, or laser illuminte, when a CD is inserted...

I checked the voltage regulator on the mixer/screen board.. It was receiving 12v, but only outputting 8mv.. So i removed the regulator and injected 5v into the circuit, (since its a 5v 1A regulator).. Sadly, still identical behaviour... I do however, now know that the voltage regulator is faulty, So have ordered a replacement.. But still.. Doesnt resolve the issue.. All still continues to stay the same...
