trying out these ocean way speakers for a few days. Pretty interesting I have to say, they have subs behind the console. We have the original ocean way speakers up in the wall above the window, this is at United Recording, formerly Ocean Way.

The 30k monitors that were at CES several years ago had the woofers bottoming out even with Alan riding the gain control constantly.
 
They sound pretty good! I have a pair of Klipschorns at home, so I do like horns, but I like them powered by tube amps, I run my klipsh with scott 299c or 222c. Our original ocean way mains, JBL 2x15's, mid horns and super tweeters once ran off Marantz 9 power amps in every room, they now run on try-amp Pass Labs 150 and 250 amps These speakers were a little unbalanced, but they can be tuned with a laptop and were not tuned to our room. But they did do a kind of horn loaded thing that was nice, but just cleaner and less character with the modern ss amps built in.
