Odd problem caused by the Monster Power Center

Okay, first off this is about my old HTS 2500ll and NOT the new HTS 3500 that many of us just picked up. With the former, there was loud interference with my favorite jazz station at 88.1 whenever the timed outlets were turned on. This happened even when I plugged the tuner into a separate outlet. Really very strange as no other stations were affected. There is no such problem with the HTS 3500 and the HTS 2500 is now causing the same interference with my Nakamichi Clockradio 1 in by BR system even though the Nak is plugged into a separate HTS 2000 Powerbar. It only occurs with this one station and only when the timed outlets kick in. This is driving me crazy trying to figure out what is causing this. Anyone have any ideas?

This is just a wild guess; but it could be that the MOVs insode of your older units have taken some signifcant hits from power spiked over thier lifespan. These surge suppressor MOVs could be on the edge of failing, and be causing some noise. I have had MOVs on other power strips fail from extreme surges, and fail-short. So it is possible that your MOVs inside of this unit are right on the edge...

You've violated the KISS Principle. The more gear, the bigger the chance of a breakdown or untoward interaction.
