Hard to the judge size of the speaker or what might be inside. As for the cabinet it's not my cup of tea.

Not mine, no affil

looks homeade and ugly as heck. i would go just to take a look at it though. it probably has EV drivers in it or another respectable name and it could be worth some serious dough. someone went to all the work to make that cab so i doubt there is junk inside.

I have seen them before at a thrift store. They had Philips drivers in them. Must be some sort of a kit.

<cue organ music>

"Dearly beloved. We are gathered here today to remember our fallen brother..."

If funeral parlors have speakers, these belong there.

Same thing I was thinking! They should have some flowers on top. Or someone's ashes one. And why the hell do speakers need K&N filters in the baffles?

I would take a stab at them, I've seen a pair that looked similar and it turned out quite find. The inside have Tannoy internals, turns out the PO really loved the look and found the sound not matching so Tannoy's were used to replace the internals..... I was soooo envious!! Not based on the value but the sound alone was just magical. The guy was a buddy and he might still have them today, he too loved the cab...lol

Judging by the rest of the photos of the stuff at that sale.....I wouldn't get too excited. I don't see anything else near TOTL so I doubt the speaker(s) were anything seriously spendy, AKA "good".

But, I have some junky crap that sounds great.....sooooooo......

Your gear is probably in this cabinet.

The interior was professionally designed in the 60's. If the designer bothered to have speakers built to match built in cabinets, 10-1 the designer put the newest stereo gear in the cabinet. If the client wanted a stereo they usually didn't get Knight Allied gear. I would go check them out and check the cabinets....if its built in, it may still be there...Don't diss god awful design...it was all in fashion at one time :D

I agree! People with money to spend on custom interiors, also have money to spend on hi-end hi-fi...

Costello: "Hey Abbott, I wanna get some really ugly speakers."

Abbott: "Why do you want really ugly speakers, Costello?"

Costello: "Because if I had good looking speakers, and if someone breaks into my house, they might get stolen."

Abbott: "But Costello, if someone breaks into your house, they might steal your ugly speakers just the same."

Costello: "Sure, but who cares?"

:D

It's not a speaker........though the speakers were equally as ugly,...inside and out. .
BTW....This is the second week for this sale.
