I had one at one time. IDK if its a sure bet that pioneer made them, but they seemed to have a lot of innards that pioneer used. Telefunken also used the same manufacturer for their units as well.Project one Mark IVB Nude front.jpg Project one mark IVB nude rear.jpg
 
The Telefunken equivalent to the Mark IVB is the TR-828
The Telefunken equivalent to the Mark IVA is the TR-616
 
I just recently purchashed a vintage system that is powered by a Project One mark 4B receiver. Receiver needs some attention, seems that the right channel is cutting out or absent. It has 2 awesome EPI 200 speakers that appear to have been redone professionally recently, and 2 JBL LX-44 that are in near new condition. Need suggestions on where to send the Mark 4B for troubleshooting/repair? I purchased in an estate sale and am the second owner of the system since new in 1979. JBL's are probably from around 1990. I'm in Kentucky if that helps and I really want to get the Mark 4 fixed as it is a beautiful vintage receiver.
 
Don't spend money if you don't have to. Try the easiest things first. Most (but not all) channel dropouts can be contributed to dirty pots and switches. Deox all pots and switches first especially the tape monitor switch or button.
 
Thanks so much for the help. OK I just watched a video showing Fader lube sprayed in to the pots and Deoxit 5 sprayed in to switches. Is it really that simple to just spray cleaner basically in to the knobs and rotate them back and forth? Or do I need get inside the cabinet and take things apart to really clean things up? The receiver is in excellent condition (1979-80) and I'm reluctent to start taking it apart and maybe mess things up worse than they are right now. Heck I'm just guessing that the knobs just pull off. Volume knob has a setscrew I can see but not the other knobs. Would you also recommend the Fader lube and Deoxit 5 products or is like a CRC contact cleaner from autozone sufficient?
