...or perhaps the Baby "blue" Blades.

How about the junior Blades at 22K?
Saw pics of gloss black with copper mid/tweet.
Perfect mate for my Ls50's.

hell's bells at those prices I could afford the Mighty 20.7's, and I doubt very seriously the blades are superior.

so art, gonna loan me the money? I'll gladly pay you tuesday etc, etc, etc...

IMO The blade is a LOT LOT LOT better than the 20.1. So unless the 20.7 has dramatically improved (and the other .7s were only a bit better) then I'd rather spend the coin on the Blade. But the Blade needs certain positioning requirements in order to work right (but that's kinda true for most any speaker this size especially). I think panels had an advantage at a time where most boxed speakers stunk. It's just not the case anymore and I feel they get overrated more because they are conversation pieces for people. And if you have to have a panel - Soundlab.

Over on the MUG, there was a recent discussion of "diaphragm self noise" or the "Mylar sound", which is a tizziness that the highs sometimes get. I thought it was just my crappy equipment with my MMGs until some other folks admitted they heard it also. Guess it is what one gets used to.

Pretty much. There is no such thing as a perfect stereo. They all come with there own set of compromises.

I am having an absolutely scintillating evening with the LS50/Brio-R/RP6 Exact setup...awesome!

I have been having a similar experience. I ran the LS50s in my living room for about a week in place of my big IMFs. Amazing sound from such a small package.

Art, that's the first time I recall seeing this room set up with a chair in the sweet spot - is that right? How do you like it.

You're about the same distance from your LS50s as I am - have you experimented with toe-in at all? I find I like them nearly on axis in my room.

It sounds great in that chair but truth is I rarely sit there. Once in a while on a late Friday or Saturday night, but most of the time if I am in that room I am sitting at the computer in the corner of the room.

I just ordered a pair of the KEF LS50, and from what everyones saying online, looks like I made a good choice. I really wasn't sure what amp to get though, but ended up ordering the Peachtree 220. What amps are you guys using on your LS50s? Im upgrading from a pair of Audioengine A5+, so I can't wait to get these.

Rega Brio-R.

Congrats you are going to enjoy the speakers. I had a set of A5's for a couple of months.

Carver M 1.5t

Art, why not center them on the computer, since that's where you sit normally? it's what I did, mine make a very obtuse (130%ish) triangle with myself as the third point.

I've done that before. In my room it simply doesn't work. Not to mention I like off axis listening.
