Hi. Long-time lurker, first time poster here. New to high-end audio as well, so bare with me.

I picked up a new piece for my ever-evolving collection of "more junk? *sigh*", as she likes to call it, yesterday ...a piece so pretty that i just had to share it.

The only issue she had was a scratchy volume pot, but a lil deoxit fixed it right up.

Oh, and there's a dead bulb at one end of the tuner display too. I found a link in another thread here that details restoration -including an LED upgrade- but i think i'll just deal with it for now. I'm enjoying the sound too much to crack her open again.

So yeah, i think it was $20 well spent :D

Now all i gotta do is upgrade everything connected to it...

Yay...

Welcome to AK! Nice clean up job on your 2230. :thmbsp: Next time your wife calls your audio equipment junk, just show her on eBay how much it's worth. :D

I forgot to mention that the Marantz was a Thrift-Town score, but I'm sure you guys picked up on that. Seems to be a pretty common theme 'round here.

I've been a thrift store scavenger for a while now, but something of this caliber is still a rare find for me. Made my day, that's for sure! If it wasn't for the "AS-IS" tag, I'm sure someone would've snatched it up sooner.
