Hi all,
Just saw this in local CL.
They do include one pic. I don't see them come up very often, thought there might be some interest. I do not know the seller or am affiliated with the seller. Willing to help if someone is interested but again am not affiliated with the seller. Am not trying to promote the seller only interested in helping fellow AKers.
Hope this can work out for someone

That's what I thought too! I have a set, have had them for about 5 years and won't be parting with them anytime soon!

Price seems a little high, but these are special speakers that don't come up that often. There might be some room for bargaining here, if the seller doesn't come down they might be up for a while.

bs

I thought they were high too, they do mention having done some new woofer surrounds. Since I got mine I've only seen these come up 2 other times. I picked up mine from a local person, it was much less than this asking price.

But I wonder were are the foam surrounds done correctly.... These speakers require special skill and understanding that require more than the average refoam job.

And maybe I'm being a nitpicker but judging from the picture doesn't look like they were loved like I would love them, they look quite Dusty dirty though I don't see any scratches or dents in the wood veneer with that one, and only picture? Wth....and i suspect that's why there is only one picture and not a detailed multi picture presentation of both speakers, and it appears to have a couple of little dings dents in the mid-range part of the cone the aluminum section

I was thinking that too about who did the work. Also the price may be a bit steep. I may just give her a call and see if I can check them out over the weekend. Her number is included in the post. Delaware is only about 30 minutes from me
I picked up my F speakers locally through CL over 6 years ago at about one third her asking price. The lowest Ohm upgrade option is $1500 but then need to add the shipping.
Again I am not affiliated or know the seller.

I don't want to jump to conclusions without see them but they have quite a few pieces listed. Is this a reseller or maybe someone who had a family member pass away? I don't want to overstep or make it sound like I am affiliated with them but there are a few items in there that I have seen people listing as WTB. Any thoughts?

Will be checking them out late Sunday afternoon or evening. Hopefully will be able to hear them. They were serviced by a local shop that I am familiar with. He is open to offers and trades.

Question for all, what should I look for with respect to the new woofer surrounds? Spoke to him at length, really nice person from our conversation in fact I dare say he could become a friend. A name we all know well here has done some work on his AR as well.
Somehow I think I may have to say while I have no stake in these speakers I will know him. He does get on AK as a guest, he should get in as a full member is my thought.
Looking forward to seeing the speakers!

No I am not affiliated with him or the speakers. I do have a set of Ohm F of my own. Just saw this on AK and let others here know about it.
I've talked to him yesterday to arrange the Sunday meeting to see the speakers. During that conversation we did talk about various pieces of equipment we have and compare notes on them.
As I mentioned in my last note we will get acquainted and we do have mutual friends through AK. There is a chance this could develop into a friendship but right now no I am not affiliated, and if he does sell to an AKer I gain nothing.
If a friendship does develop I will be upfront with that info

Thanks bowtie and Harvestor!
I'll make it a point to take the cones off and look inside.
On mine one of the connectors was disconnected when I picked them up. Doesn't seem to affect performance, more cosmetic. I have some errands to run during the day but will stop home before I head over there and will check to see if I have more comments.
Again, other than the phone conversation I do not know the seller or his Ohm F speakers.

Interesting. Do they really command that type of price, even with re-coning done? I have to admit, I'm totally out of touch with current market value of these things.
Back in the 70's, I knew a guy who bought a set new, for $1200. I will agree that you don't see them too often. From what I recall, they were niche purchase back in the day.

Hi everyone, I did get a chance to see them last night, they sound good, nicks and scratches on the finish could stand to get some oiling. The speaker cloth is definitely frayed and could stand to be recovered, frames are good though.
It was getting somewhat late but did open one of them to get some inner pictures. This evening will figure out how to unload from my Blackberry to PC to attach in a note. He is very open to negotiating. He did not mention if anyone else has contacted him other than me for adding info here, but is very open to offers. Next weekend we are going to bring them over here to do an AB with mine on the same system to see if there is any difference.
