Ohm Model G’s, what to expect?

Hi folks,

As the title implies, I’m receiving a pair of Ohm Model G’s this weekend, and can hardly contain my excitement for my first *proper* pair of speakers. I’m curious what to expect compared to my current 3-way JBL P30’s. If anyone has experience with these I’d love to hear your opinions.

I’ll be running them through my Marantz 2230.

Expect to take as much time as you need to get to know them, how they sound in specific room placements.

Try a variety of different music genres to ascertain things like bass response etc.

Don't be too critical and above all let your ears be the final arbiter as that is all that matters.

Enjoy! and let us know what you think once you've given them some proper listening time.

They appear to have been “upgraded” to maybe Walsh 2’s, or something like that. I had a pair of model G’s and they looked like a smaller version of the Model F, kind of looked like a small jet engine.

Yes, I believe they have been updated with the Walsh 2 driver. Kind of a relief for me since I didn’t want to pay to get it done myself. They seem to be very similar to the F’s. Excited to hear them!
