Ohm Walsh 2 recap and refinish questions

Hey Guys.

I have a pair of Ohm Walsh 2's and am thinking about having a recap done on the corssovers. I got them second hand and have no idea about what has been done to them in the past etc.. I have no idea if they need a re-foam either. I seem to recall that the Ohm Walsh 2's use a cloth surround so they may not ever need a refoam.

I will say that they sound really nice. the bass is nice and tight and no rattling or buzzing at high volume. I absolutely love these speakers and want to take care of them so that they last a long time to come.

The only negative thing about them is the finish. They are black and the paint is flaking off in places.

any thoughts on a refinish? should I just sand them down and spray paint em gloss back? I sorta wonder if I could strip the paint and get them back to a nice wood finish that might be hiding under that black paint.
