Ohm Walsh2 find in Detroit

So I blew my ADS L-470's the other day and was on my way home to pickup my Yamaha 670's when I decided to stop by my local Salvation Army. I walked into the electronics section and noticed a pair of oddly shaped Ohm branded speakers, hmmm Walsh2's 74.99 All I could think was that I didn't really need another set of speakers etc etc but then a sale went into effect and any one item was 50% off so I promptly bought them. The cabs are extremely clean as are the grills badges etc. They sound great paired with my G-7700 and they seem to be able to take a lot of power without clipping. This was a fantastic find for me as I've been in a bit of a slump of Salvo finds as of late. Anyone familar with these speakers value/good pairings/placements?

The Saunsui should be great. My Sherwoods sounds fantastic but is a little shy on juice at 70 watts. Time to break out the 250 watter. I've also had great results using high powered Carvers--really makes the midrange come alive. They like being a foot to 18" from the rear wall for proper bass.
 
I never ,ever thought i would EVER see anything in a Sally's here...I tried,I really have. Wyoming and Montana had stuff that would blow you away. Those are beautiful! LOVE the wood. I better not give up so easily.
 
That is an unbelievable deal. I cannot imagine how those speakers ended up in the Salvation Army---well, I sort of can.
 
Excellent score....the more power the better with these, but 70 a side will do unless you're really cranking them for a long time.

As mentioned, about a foot from the wall, and the left speaker should have a badge reading "OHM" in the front, while the right should show "Walsh" - on the sides facing out into the room.

I paid more than $400 for mine, and happily so.
 
Nice. The only SA where I can find anything even close to decent is in Walled Lake, and it's not close, and the stuff isn't even that good. They just seem to move a lot of it, which improves the odds somewhat. Of course, I haven't looked around much here in Ann Arbor, and I would think there'd be good stuff. But that whole not having a car thing puts a damper on that.

It was a good find, one of my best ever, however, Im more curious what receiver these were hooked up to as there was no nice receiver on the floor with it. If I had to guess I imagine it got sniped by one of the employee's :no:
 
I had a pair of Ohm Walsh 2's and traded up a while back! Their presence, imaging and soundstage are phenomenal, but they lack deep bass response... Pair them with a subwoofer and you will be very happy! BTW - I paid $375 for mine off ebay probably 6 or 7 years ago! You got a great deal!
 
FWIW, whichever Ohmses it is that I have display pretty amazing LF, given the modest size of their cabinets and their drivers.
