OK to replace U05B diode with 1N5404 diode?

Hi folks. I see a lot of suggestions to replace a U05B diode (2.5A 100v) with the UF5405 diode (3A 500v). I have none of those here but I have some 1N5404 diodes (3A 400v). Those are fine to use, right? This would be for a 2215B power supply.

A 5401 is closer in spec.. 3 amp 100 volts. But yours will work fine. It's just a general purpose diode.

No problem - as long as the leads fit - IIRC the 5404 has pretty thick leads.
