I don't know that I would trust a seller who is too lazy, or too ignorant, to form a complete sentence but have at it. Its like he was in traffic and suddenly decided he wanted to sell his speakers via text message before the light turned.

I'd make room. In fact I did, at four times the price. Most things that can go wrong can be repaired, and there are photo tutorials online covering even the most drastic repairs.

Easy for you to reject, you're in Chicago.:smoke:
I'm 20 minutes away from the guy, even though I wasn't looking for anything like these and know nothing about electrostatics.....:scratch2:

Haven't I seen they need a sub? Seriously, I know zip about maggies.

RUN! i have SMGa speakers that are fully restored and they are astonishing! if you like jazz, folk, classical etc you will not want to pass these up. even with some work involved!

Hope a lucky AKer gets these! :thmbsp:

They're also easy for me to reject because I bought a cheap pair of Magnepan SMGs off of CL once before realizing what kind of an arts and craft project I got myself into. Also-prior to embarking on said mission, I heard a pair of fully working ones and promptly gave them to another AKer. Not my cup of tea at all but plenty of people really love them. They're not Electrostats, by the way- that's a different type of panel speaker (and in my opinion, the one to get but I'm quite biased on that subject). They're ribbon/quasi-ribbon/planar magnetic...(http://www.magnepan.com/magneplanar_technology) speakers. I personally do not feel that they have the immediacy or coherency of a good set of electrostatic speakers, but that is obviously a debate that has plenty of excellent points of view on both sides. The Magnepan 20.1, however- is AWESOME.

Somebody'd better run and get those. $50 + $100 (for new socks and repair kit from Magnepan) equals a phenomenal pair of speakers.

Maggies are not electrostats, they're dipole planars. They need a good amount of clean power to drive them, but set them up right and you'll be astounded by what they can do.

C'mon guys, don't make me go get these ('cause I won't)!

Side Note: I cant believe they are still available!

That's the nice thing about my CL. If something nice does pop up you might actually have a chance of getting it. However, you must have patience. One must also keep in mind that they might be long gone, and our seller just forgot to remove the ad.

Thanks for the info. I've pinged the seller out of curiosity, and he is apparently not too awesome at Internets.
