I am asking for some help here. I have recently inherited my fathers audio equipment, and I need some help setting it back up in my house. Some of the components are missing, but I think I have a pretty good start. I understand audio pretty well, although I grew up with the audio of the late 90's and 2000's, so a receiver, and some speakers is all I needed. This older stuff I am still trying to figure it all out, to see what is, and what is not needed.
I will list what I have, any guidance on what I need to complete the system would be great. Keep in mind I am on a budget, and this system will be used in the basement, and not every day.
Speakers:
Klipsch KB-40's
The down side I am not able to put them in the corners, the lay out of the basement only allows one of them to be mounted in the corner. Will these speakers still sound good if they are not in a corner? The speakers were being used up until about 2 years ago, along with the majority of the items listed below. I have the original boxes for all of these components, so I don't think I am missing any power cables or anything.
AV Control Center
Mcintosh MX 136
Pre Amp
Mcintosh C28
Equalizer
dbx 20/20 computerized equalizer
Expander
dbx 3BX
Components
TEAC A-7300
TEAC A-6010
Dual Record Player
I need an Amp, unless I can find one in my parents basement.
The TEAC components are not going to be used, so I could trade for an amp, but I do not know what they are worth.
I do not want to turn this into a surround system, stereo sound will work fine. I would like to use the system for movies, tv, a little bit of gaming, and obviously listening to music. I will be using a 55-65 inch flat screen for the tv.
Components that would be hooked into the finished system
Cable Box
XBOX ONE
PLAYSTATION 4
Dual Record player
Thank you for at least taking the time to read this, any help would be greatly appreciated.
