Old Console ID?

This is a long shot, but worth a try!
A friend has this cabinet that used to house a radio and record player, speakers, etc. He thinks it's fromt he 30's-40's but has no idea what mfgr. electronics were in there.

'Any chance anyone might recognize the style or design as being from a specific mfgr. or maybe has seen the exact unit?
I tried the photo search on Goole, but the results were no better than just searching "console radio".

Looking at the interior surfaces, it doesn't really look like it ever held gear...
But it's "Absolutely Fabulous".

From the outside, it does resemble the big heavy TRF radios of the late 1920s, but I don't recognize it specifically. It would have to have had a board across the front, inside the doors, for the knobs and speaker to be mounted on, so unless it had one that was removed, I doubt it's a 20s radio. Could just be a cabinet that looks like one.

Are there any markings or labels on the back edges of the cabinet, or on the shelves?

He said it had a radio and record player in it that were gutted by his father when he was too young to remember the names.

Better yet, if you want to look at radios, go to Radio Attic and find the Archives. There are photos of about 5000 radios there, sorted by brand. To see what the late 20s consoles looked like, find Atwater Kent. There are others, but AK went out in the mid 30s, so you won't have to sort through more modern stuff.

If this really had a record player though, it's not likely from that era. Now I'm starting to think 40s-50s for it. I just haven't seen that shape of cabinet.

We had a RCA TV sort of like that. It had a turntable and AM/FM? radio in it as well as a large ( for it's era) TV. I recall that the turntable was in a slide out drawer in the bottom of the cabinet. My parents kept if for years after it stopped working. I wouldn't mind having it and gutting it to use as a stereo cabinet.
