Old Magnavox speakers

vintage 5.0

vintage 5.0
My buddy gave me two magnavox 12" midrange speakers that came out of a old console unit. The only numbers on them say Magnavox 137-616. Are these any good. I am using them to replace ones in a old juke box. They look similar to the ones that were in there. ˙as anyone ever used these or seen these before.

Yeah...got a butt-load of those (hadn't checked if mine are the 616s though). The console pulls are useful.

They're suitable for low-power guitar amp use. I like the extended roll-off while not being very shrill. But again, low power.

Built some ported cabinets about 1.5 cuft with those 12"s and the matching maggie horns (single cap xover) and they sound OK for hifi. Very cheap but no bottom. And trying to push them to make bottom will burn them up quickly.

Still, I keep all I come across for guitar amp projects and for dorking around as sacrificial loads for experiments.

Try them in the jukebox. If they work well, then great!
